Howdy!

On behalf of our team, welcome to Maroon Prestige!

Founded in 2019 as a Texas A&M Student Organization by Raia Smith, Maroon Prestige was formed with the purpose of promoting inclusivity and diversity through the art of dance by highlighting the unique aspects of various cultures, body positivity, and self-confidence. We want others to feel confident in who they are and safe while representing the culture that comes with their identity.

To date, Maroon Prestige has performed at events within the local Bryan/College Station area such as Texas A&M's Fusion Fiesta, Bryan's First Friday, the Lincoln Center's elementary-high school aged student themed events, and T.H.E. Committee's Homecoming Week. Furthermore, we have travelled to attend Texas State's 2nd Annual Showcase, and we have hosted our own events from Burlesque Night to March Mania. We are continuing to expand our horizons, while leaving our mark to live up to our mission!

During the normal school year, Maroon Prestige members meet on average about 6-10 hours per week. Practices consist of learning choreography, event planning, costume development, and team bonding. At the same time, while the team prioritizes dance, we continue to value and respect academics/other responsibilities. Each of our members continue to maintain their responsibilities, from excelling in the classroom in fields such as Engineering, Marketing, and Kinesiology, to performing on the Track Field or maintaining jobs. Our members bring diverse backgrounds to the team, but we continue to achieve and leave our mark as a team!

Maroon Prestige is currently under the direction of our Captain and Founder, Raia Smith '22.
